About this Training Course

Safety Solutions and Supply offers OSHA 30, General Industry training authorized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The OSHA 30 is a thirty hour program presented over 4 days which can be provided at our state of the art facility or at your location by our OSHA Training Institute (OTI) certified instructors, based on your training needs. Upon completion all student will receive an official OSHA 30 hour card, approved by the Department of Labor.

The 30-hour General Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces and includes the following topics:
• Introduction to OSHA
• OSHA Inspection Procedures and Safety Programs
• Recordkeeping
• Hazard Communication
• Exit Route, Emergency Action Plans
• Fire Prevention and Protection
• Electrical
• Flammable and Combustible Liquids

Safety Solutions and Supply is the premier Overhead Hoist training provider. This program is a 4 hour training program, inclusive of hands on learning, practical evaluation and a written assessment.

This program is designed satisfy the training requirements for operators of overhead hoists as defined under CFR 1910.179 and the Crane Manufacturer’s Association of America (CMAA). The program addresses proper operator inspection of cranes, load handling and management, basic rigging methods and techniques.

What does OSHA require for Overhead Hoist training?

Per OSHA 1910.179, employers must use designated personnel to operate overhead cranes and hoists. “Designated” means selected or assigned by the employer or the employer’s representative as being qualified to perform specific duties. Additionally, qualified riggers are required whenever workers are within the fall zone and hooking, unhooking, or guiding a load, or doing the initial connection of a load to a component or structure.
