SS&S-Alliance Safety Council partnership allows wider means for PowerSafe training

FOR MORE THAN A YEAR now, Safety Solutions & Supply has had an authorized relationship with the Alliance Safety Council, based in Baton Rouge, La., a few miles southeast of our satellite location in Gonzales, La.

Like Safety Solutions & Supply, the Alliance Safety Council (ASC) [link to https://www.alliancesafetycouncil.org/] offers training — safety training included — to workers in manufacturing, mining, construction, utility, and other key industries. However, our scope of services is much more broad, incorporating general safety consulting, program development, customized support, and equipment sales and service.

ASC is a network of safety councils — it’s a not-for-profit resource organization that does training for 3,000 to 4,000 people a year all over the world — and Safety Solutions & Supply is an affiliate member of ASC. What this does this relationship mean for us and our clients?

  1. It means we can reach more workers with our own training through ASC.
  2. It means we can participate in and help to develop the programs offered by ASC.
  3. Perhaps most importantly, it means we can offer ASC programs to SS&S clients beyond the ones within reach in Louisiana — to those also in Central Florida and throughout the U.S. Southeast.

In April 2017, we officially announced our authorized relationship with the Alliance Safety Council. We announced that this relationship immediately gave us the ability to provide convenient and complete PowerSafe training. PowerSafe is an integrated and comprehensive safety orientation and verification program for power and other utility contractors.

As described on the ASC website [link to http://www.powersafetraining.org/], “PowerSafe Generation and PowerSafe T&D provide standardized, OSHA awareness-level safety orientations for utility contractors. The training is recorded in the PowerSafe database, which is easily validated through an auditable system and helps to end the unnecessary duplication of contractor training.”

As an authorized PowerSafe provider, Safety Solutions & Supply makes it fast and easy for companies to register their employees and get them trained. Our Mulberry, Fla., location has a state-of-the-art computer training lab ready to support companies that want to efficiently qualifying their employees for the next important power-related job. Convenient online registration — at www.solutionsinsafety.com — is all it takes to get worker training started, and our professionals will take care of matters from there.
