FLUSAR Rope Rescue Technician Level II
This course is taught in a five-day open enrollment format and is accredited through the State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training for FLUSAR personnel.
Certification: FLUSAR 40-Hour Rope Rescue Technician Level II
Prerequisite(s): Rope Rescue Operations Level I.
Class Day/Time: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Course Description: Designed to train rescuers in high-angle rescue/recovery. This course meets and exceeds NFPA 1006 Chapters 5 and 6.2.
Learning Objectives: Knowledge of troubleshooting areas, rope systems, anchor systems, raise/lower techniques, stoke basket operations, high line operations, pick-off techniques, knot passing, and rope theory. Emphasis will be placed on safety, raising and lowering patient packaging, belay operations, and moving a victim in high-angle environments.
Dress Code: A helmet, boots, gloves, long pants, and a t-shirt are required for practical evaluations.
